CHAIN MEMBERS - TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Introduction
CHAIN is an online mutual support network of people working in health and social care and related management, research and education. CHAIN is committed to protecting the privacy of its members in accordance with our obligations under data protection legislation. With effect from 25th May 2018, the main data protection law will be the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

CHAIN enables those who work in health and social care and related management, research and education to:
- access the online CHAIN Directory, enabling identificaton of and communication with other members of the network.
- ask questions or seek advice from a rich and diverse pool of members' experience
- receive targeted messages about resources, activities and opportunities relevant to your interest.

By joining CHAIN you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.


Registration and Membership
1. Applications for Membership of CHAIN are made by appropriate individuals via the CHAIN website. By submitting the application online, a prospective member is deemed to have signed the application form.

2. The decision as to whether a prospective member is an appropriate person to join the network will be made by CHAIN based on the information provided by the applicant and in some cases subsequent enquiries by CHAIN staff. CHAIN reserves the right at all times and at its absolute discretion to accept or reject applications for membership.

3. Upon registration you will become a Member of CHAIN and gain full access to the CHAIN membership service.

4. Successful applicants to join CHAIN will become members of CHAIN and gain full access to the network.

5. Members may review, amend, update or withdraw their membership at any time.


Members' Responsibilities
1. All registration details provided to CHAIN should be accurate and members should inform CHAIN when important details change. To report changes in details, or to request for the removal of their record (and consequently their withdrawal from the network), members may contact enquiries@chain-network.org.uk at any time.

2. Members agree when joining CHAIN that the information provided on the joining form will be included in a secure online directory held by CHAIN which can be accessed over the web solely by CHAIN members.

3. CHAIN is a mutual support network so by definition members should be willing to share their experience with other members as appropriate. Members may identify one another from the CHAIN online Directory and may use confidential 1:1 e-mails to engage in dialogue.

4. Members may use the online CHAIN Directory for work or study-related networking. CHAIN may not be used for any commercial purposes such as direct marketing. When contacting other Members, CHAIN members should always mention the fact that they are part of the network.

5. CHAIN will contact members every six months asking them to review and if necessary update their details. If members fail to respond to update messages from CHAIN or subsequent reminders, their details may be removed from the Directory.

6. It is the responsibility of members to keep log-in details confidential. CHAIN is not responsible for any breach of privacy due to members' failure to keep log-in details secure.

 

CHAIN's Responsibilities
1. CHAIN will not share the information provided by members with anyone other than CHAIN members without explicit permission.

2. CHAIN will endeavour to ensure that the CHAIN Directory is kept secure and is not accessed by unauthorised individuals or organisations.

3. CHAIN will contact members every six months requesting that members review and where necessary update their membership details.

4. CHAIN will not use the information provided by members on registration and subsequent updates for any purposes other than those consistent with the raison d'etre of CHAIN

5. CHAIN will use the information provided by members to maximise the value of membership, for example to ensure that items of potential significance or interest are targeted to members, whilst information about things outside their personal fields of interest are not.

6. CHAIN may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time in accordance with the regulatory framework.
