After 29 years of continuous operation the CHAIN network has been de-funded by the Department of Health and Social Care. A unique, multi-professional mutual support network of c15,000 people, with 120 sub-groups, led from the UK but spanning 100 countries around the globe has therefore been lost.
From 28th February 2026 the network and all the network resources and sub-groups will cease to be available. From that date until the end of May 2026 CHAIN data and resources will be kept secure and in suspended state so that should an alternative source of funding become available it may be possible to revive the network. After this all data and resources will be permanently erased.
The cost of maintaining CHAIN until the end of 2026 would be c£100k, and iro £120k per annum thereafter. Any organisation interested in providing financial support for CHAIN please contact enquiries@chain-network.org.uk as soon as possible. Thank you.
